Going to the chapel and we're gonna...

Yep, get married! Brian and I were engaged April 21st :o) Most of you that will be reading my blog already know how it happened. Here are a few pictures of my ring. Of course the pictures don't do it any justice. It's absolutely beautiful! We are starting to put some plans together for the wedding...most planning will take place this summer once school is out. Oh yeah...I only have 13 days of work left until summer! I love teaching.
The start of something great...

We had a brand new white vinyl fence put in our back yard. Our next step is some landscaping and a patio out back. We aren't too concerned about the lack of grass in some spots...the patio will eventually cover that area, leaving enough grass and play area for Kyann. Did I mention that we got rid of Rusty, our adopted dog? After 9 months of destruction to our home...various training interventions...and tears, we finally took him back to the shelter. We don't know the family he is with, but he does have another home :)
New "used" car

Since I've been driving my mother's VW Passat for the last year and a half, I finally decided to give it back to her and get my own wheels. On May 5th I purchased a 2003 Audi A6!!! I absolutely love it :) It has all kinds of gadgets that I don't really know how to use yet and only 48,000 miles. It actually matches my other vehicle, a 2001 Suzuki GZ250 motorcycle. I don't have a picture of that yet...coming soon! I have been doing quite a bit of riding though. What fun!
Next room...

We overhauled our bedroom too! It's so difficult to get out of bed in the morning now. Every once in awhile I spoil myself and buy some fresh flowers to put on my nightstand. Once again Brian amazed me with his beautiful craftsmanship. Make sure you check out the ceiling...it's my favorite part! We also purchased a brand new bedroom set, which we love. We made one of our closets into a space for a large dresser and the other small closet we made into shelves. This was our most recent project, as we just finished over Easter!
It's about time I catch up...

So much has happened since my last blog! Where do I even begin...? I'll start with the house. Brian and I overhauled one room in our basement. Let me just say Brian is pretty darn handy around the house! We completely redid the room from top to bottom: new ceiling with recessed lighting...new paint and trim on the walls...new hardwood floor, which we installed (it's not the real wood though). Bri purchased a beautiful bar with bar stools and thanks to some ge
nerous gifts from others, our once creepy, green, musty smelling basement is a wonderful place to kick back, relax, watch the tube, have a few drinks, play games, and hangout!

Summer Trips

Here are two random pictures of Brian and I from our trip last year and this year. Last year we traveled to Niagara Falls (Canada) and through the Adirondacks in upstate New York. What an absolutely beautiful trip! This year we traveled south to visit some friends in Kentucky, visit some friends in Memphis, TN, Nashville, TN where we saw an IRL car race thanks to my darling "sis" Nicole, through the Smoky Mountains (see picture) and back up towards PA. We rode a little over 3000 miles in two weeks :)

This is the biggest room in our house. It contains the front office and our dining room. We took a chance and painted the walls red, which we ended up loving! All the furniture in these rooms is old, but in the near future we are going to buy this beautiful "L-shaped" desk from the pottery barn that will fill up the front office and provide much needed filing cabinets! Can you find Kyann in one of the pictures? :)
House Pictures

Brian and I moved into our first home on October 22, 2005. Since then we have painted, bought some new furniture for the living room, a new garage door , and changed a variety of odds and ends. We have a lot planned for the house in the future, but since it's summer, we are too busy with vacations and weekend trips to really get into anything big. I hope you enjoy the pictures!
